The word diversity is an inappropriate word. You will not find in the dictionary. Or anyway it's hard to find. So there is no real definition, so let's try and create one.

Now if we are talking about the word difference, this one comes with a definition. It also has a synonym. It's called contrast. It contrasts with the word similar.
And because the nouns end in -usefulness, emiting something universal yet gentle, they dressed the word different with this ending thus making it apropriate to participate even in a panel...
Diversity is built on contrasts. And like all the utilitarian and abusive in this world contrasts come in pairs. Like socks and shoes. Like people.
